Friday 18th: This morning we have a short drive taking us to the beautiful city of Oxford where we meet our guide who will take us on a gentle guided walking tour pointing out the familiar scenes well known to followers of Inspector Morse and Lewis, his successor. After the tour we have free time in the city before returning to the hotel.
Saturday 19th: Today we are joined by a guide on the coach who will escort us on an excursion through the beautiful little towns, villages and rolling hills of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire as featured in ‘Midsomer Murders’. Our lunch stop today is in picturesque Henley-on-Thames, home of the famous regatta.
Sunday 20th: Our first visit is to the market town of Old Amersham. The broad high street is lined with half-timbered period cottages including Amersham Museum. Elegant shops and boutiques mingle with pubs and restaurants and the Crown Hotel, opposite the Old Market Hall featured in the film Four Weddings and a Funeral. We have chance to obtain lunch and this afternoon we visit Hughenden Manor, a country home of the Victorian statesman Benjamin Disraeli with enchanting gardens.
Monday 21st: After breakfast we begin our journey home, with a drive through the Cotswold’s with stops en-route.
