Monday 28th: Depart from your home area travelling to Norfolk and arriving late
afternoon.
Tuesday 29th: Today we combine a nostalgic steam train ride with a cruise on the Norfolk
Broads. We begin at Aylsham where we join the Bure Valley Railway for the 9 miles ride to
Wroxham. At Wroxham we join the boat for a cruise around the Broads, and we then travel
through some of the delightful Broads villages, such as Woodbastwick, with its diminutive
green and thatched cottages.
Wednesday 30th: Today we visit Sandringham, much loved country retreat of Her Majesty
The Queen. The house, set in 24 hectares of stunning gardens has been the private home
of four generations of British monarchy and is a friendly and informal place to visit, with
knowledgeable guides in every room of the house and acres of beautiful gardens to
explore.
Thursday 31st: Full day to Norwich one of England’s best-preserved historic centres.
Within the remains of the old city wall, one can find the Norman cathedral and castle, the
famous mustard shop, mediaeval buildings, cobbled streets, a colourful market and East
Anglia’s premier shopping centre.
Friday 1st: Following breakfast we return home with a morning stop in the university city
of Cambridge.
