Friday 16th: We depart travelling south via the Cotswold’s with various village stops en-route to the outskirts of Gloucester and our hosts the Holiday Inn.

Saturday 17th: This morning we head for Toddington for a 35min ride on the Toddington to Cheltenham Railway. After our train ride we have free time to explore Cheltenham. We then head to Stratford upon Avon and take a 45 minute scenic return cruise along the Avon as the boat passes Shakespeare’s burial place (Holy Trinity Church), The Royal Shakespeare Theatre, historic bridges and beautiful riverside gardens.

Sunday 18th: Today we take a VIP visit to Chavenage, a wonderful Elizabethan house of mellow grey Cotswold stone and tiles which contains much of interest for the discerning visitor including stunning rooms including the wonderful Great Hall. We are to be met by a member of the family for a 2 hour guided tour. We spend the remainder of the day at lovely town of Cirencester.

Monday 19th: This morning we head across the Cotswold’s to the beautiful city of Oxford. The ‘city of dreaming spires’ is steeped in a rich and fascinating history, famous for its prestigious Oxford University, the city is home to its 38 colleges whereby many notable scholars have emerged. Oxford's splendid High Street is lined with numerous magnificent buildings (including many of the colleges) and was described by American writer Nathaniel Hawthorne as "the finest street in England." We have free time to explore and get lunch before heading homeward early in the afternoon.

This Holiday Inn offers modern bedrooms and leisure facilities. Guests can use the Spirit Health and Fitness Club for free. The Hotel does not have a lift but there are 30 ground floor rooms. There are approx. 20 steps from the ground floor to first floor.
