Friday 20th: We travel to Dover for our short sea crossing to Calais continuing on to our first overnight hotel on the German border.
Saturday 21st: We travel to Koblenz following the banks of the Rhine Valley to Rüdesheim for a lunch stop before continuing on to our second overnight hotel.
Sunday 22nd: Germany to Passau - we continue on to Passau known as the “Three Rivers City” due to its unique location where the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers meet. Once aboard the boat late afternoon, you can relax as we set sail and cruise towards Melk.
Monday 23rd: Melk to Vienna - this morning we arrive in the small town of Melk which lies in the beautiful Wachau Valley. Here you can join our optional excursion visiting the Benedictine abbey. This is one of the most famous monastic houses in Austria and has been occupied by monks for over 900 years. You can relax onboard for the remainder of the day as we cruise to Vienna for an overnight stop.
Tuesday 24th: Vienna - we spend a full day experiencing the delights of Vienna. Grand palaces, baroque castles, magnificent squares and striking monuments are just some of the key features of this beautiful city which is a world heritage site. In the afternoon we have a visit to Schonbrunn Palace, which takes you on a journey through times as we explore some of the 1,441 rooms. In the early evening we cast off and cruise towards Budapest.
Wednesday 25th: Budapest - one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Here you can explore both sides of Hungary’s capital – traditional Buda and the more cosmopolitan Pest. Start the day by joining our city tour. In the evening experience Budapest by night with a traditional folklore show.
Thursday 26th: Enjoy a morning in Budapest or visit Lajosmizse travelling through the plans of Hungary to see a traditional stud farm and enjoy a tour of the grounds in a horsedrawn carriage, before watching a spectacular live Puszta horse show. We set sail in the afternoon and cruise towards Bratislava.
Friday 27th: Bratislava - we reach Bratislava in the early morning. Enjoy a walking tour to take in the sights of this Slovakian capital and experience its rich culture before we set sail in the afternoon and cruise towards Durnstein.
Saturday 28th: Durnstein - you are free to explore the cobbled streets and pretty courtyards and buildings. We set sail for the final time and cruise towards Passau.
Sunday 29th: We disembark this morning and travel by our coach to our overnight hotel on the German/Belgium border.
Monday 30th: We depart our overnight hotel after breakfast for the journey to Calais for our ferry crossing as we continue the final leg of our tour.
