Monday 30th: Depart from your home area in the morning travelling to Dorset and
arriving late afternoon at George Albert Hotel for four nights stay – dinner, bed & breakfast.
Tuesday 31st: Today our first visit is to Bridport and West Bay. West Bay was the
setting for TV’s Broadchurch. From here we continue to the historic coastal resort of Lyme
Regis. Close to the Devon border Lyme Regis is home to the famous Cobb and harbour.
Wednesday 1st: This morning we visit nearby Dorchester, the county town of Dorset,
the fictional ‘Casterbridge’ of Thomas Hardy’s novels. After free time here we head
to Weymouth with its fine Georgian seafront and award winning beach. Be sure to visit
the picturesque and traditional 17th century harbour, alive with colour and activity.
Thursday 2nd: Our day begins with a drive to Sherbourne, without doubt one of England’s
most beautiful towns, with an abundance of medieval buildings, a superb
abbey, almshouse and two castles. From here we make for Shaftesbury, an ancient hilltop
town and famous as the home to cobbled Gold Hill, star of the Hovis adverts.
Friday 3rd: After breakfast we leave and head for home.
