Monday 24th: We leave home this morning travelling to Yorkshire, arriving late afternoon at Crown Hotel Harrogate. Enjoy a glass of wine with dinner this evening.
Tuesday 25th: We start with a visit to beautiful Bolton Abbey where we enjoy a stroll through the Abbey ruins to the River Wharfe. The scenery here is stunning with many lovely views. Later we ride through the Dales to the magical little market town of Hawes, England’s highest. It is also home to world famous Wensleydale cheese.
Wednesday 26th: Our day begins with a drive to Skipton – ‘Gateway to the Dales’. The attractive High Street leads up to the church, behind which you see the impressive 900 year old castle and Skipton Woods. Skipton Castle is one of the most complete and best preserved medieval castles in England. The High Street is also home to Skipton’s famous market, with many varied stalls. We return to Harrogate by way of Nidderdale with a short stop in Pateley Bridge.
Thursday 27th: We can explore Harrogate today. With huge open spaces and broad tree-lined boulevards, antique shops and shopping malls, elegant buildings, abundant greenery, flowers and plants, it is little wonder that the town is a frequent winner of Britain in Bloom awards. Harrogate also boasts the world famous Betty’s tearooms. This afternoon enjoy a Cream Tea at the hotel, consisting of tea/coffee, scones, cream and jam. Enjoy a glass of wine at dinner this evening.
Friday 28th: We leave after breakfast and travel via the Peak District before arriving home later this afternoon.
