Elegant Eastbourne
Eastbourne is one of Britain’s more elegant seaside resorts and boasts being the UK’s sunniest place. It is home to a wide spacious promenade, a Victorian pier, and fine shopping centre. From our base in Eastbourne we visit the magnificent Hever Castle, the bustling town of Hastings and the town where the 1066 Battle of Hastings was fought.

Your Itinerary

Monday 15th: We begin our journey this morning, travelling south to the City of Spires, Oxford, where we will take a break with time for lunch before continuing on to our hotel.
Tuesday 16th: Today is at leisure to relax and explore the lovely town of Eastbourne.
Wednesday 17th: We begin today with a visit to Hever Castle and Gardens, dating back to the 13th century. Hever Castle was once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second wife of Henry VIII and Mother of Elizabeth I. This afternoon we make our way to Hayward Heath in the heart of mid Sussex. Victoria Park and Beech Hurst Gardens are great places in which to relax, explore the town with its many shops or find a place to enjoy some lunch.
Thursday 18th: Our excursion today takes us to picturesque Battle, an historic town built on the site of the infamous Battle of Hastings, you may like to visit the impressive 1066 Abbey & Battlefield or just simply explore the town. Later we move on to nearby Hastings, wander the preserved Old Town’s winding streets and tiny twittens crammed with Tudor houses and flower-bedecked cottages, visit some of the many museums or enjoy a stroll along its two layered promenade.
Friday 19th: This morning we leave Eastbourne, travelling northwards via the Cotswolds with a lunch break in one of the lovely villages before continuing our journey home.

The BW York House Hotel is located on Eastbourne’s sea front, just 500 yards from the pier and a short walk takes you to the town centre. Hotel facilities include indoor heated swimming pool, attractive veranda bar and comfortable lounges.
