Tuesday 19th: Departing this morning, travelling south we will arrive at our hotel later this afternoon. Wednesday 20th: Today enjoy a day at leisure in Weymouth. Weymouth’s streets have lots of character, with many Georgian buildings interspersed with more modern structures. One of the town’s few remaining Tudor houses has been well-preserved and offers guided tours in the summer months. New Bond Street, St Thomas Street, and St Mary’s Street form a large pedestrian area bustling with spacious modern shops and occasional street performances. Thursday 21st: Our first stop today is the vibrant market town of Bridport, with a rich, rope-making heritage, it also has a tremendous reputation for arts and culture. The town itself is a hive of activity with an eclectic mix of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Just a mile to the south of Bridport is West Bay – a charming fishing village located on one of the most dramatic stretches of the Jurassic Coast. West Bay has enjoyed a surge in popularity after playing host to the hit drama Broadchurch. Our return journey takes us along the coast, across the Chesil Causeway to the Isle of Portland with breath-taking views. Friday 22nd: Today we travel the short distance to Dorchester. A delightful market town filled with some of the strangest and most interesting museums in England. The award-winning Dinosaur Museum, the Tutankhamun Exhibition, the Terracotta Warriors Museum, the Dorset County Museum, boasting the largest Thomas Hardy collection in the world, the Dorset Teddy Bear Museum, an ideal place for a cream tea. Saturday 23rd: Leaving after breakfast we begin our journey, after taking a break for lunch, we continue on our way, arriving home later this afternoon.
