Paignton
Set between two headlands, with miles of golden beach, Paignton nestles snugly between its two neighbours, Torquay and Brixham. Its colourful image is enhanced by a marine gardens promenade, pier and harbour which are brought to life at nightfall by seafront illuminations.

Your Itinerary

Monday 11th: We leave during the morning, travelling to Paignton, arriving late afternoon.
Tuesday 12th: This morning we have a short drive to nearby Torquay where we have time to soak up the atmosphere of the Queen of the Riviera. In fact, the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie was born in Torquay and spent much of her life here. In September each year, Torquay comes alive with super-sleuths for the International Agatha Christie Festival.
Wednesday 13th: A superb day out with a ‘Steam and Cruise’ theme. In Paignton we join the Dartmouth Steam Railway for a delightful and nostalgic ride along the coast, across the scenic Dart Valley to Kingswear. Here we take the ferry across the harbour to historic Dartmouth. We have time for lunch and to explore the town before we enjoy a 1-hour cruise along the beautiful River Dart. Afterwards we take the ferry to Kingswear and join the train for the ride back to Paignton.
Thursday 14th: Today sees our half day excursion to Brixham, a lively fishing town centred around the harbour, with plenty to see and do. Brixham’s history is filled with pirates and smugglers, you will find plenty of attractions from the life-size pirate museum, the Golden Hind to the stunning views from the old Napoleon fort at Berry Head. We head back to Paignton in the afternoon for some time at leisure to grab your last-minute trinkets and gifts. Take a stroll along the iconic Paignton Pier with unrivalled views of Torquay to the north and Brixham to the south.
Friday 15th: Departing after breakfast, we make our way to Bath. With its compact visitor friendly centre, it’s overflowing with places to eat and drink in addition to some of the finest independent shops in Britain. Continuing our journey after lunch we arrive home later this afternoon.
