Hop to the Inner Hebrides
Enjoy six memorable days of island adventure as we criss-cross three of the best Inner Hebridean Isles, each one with its unique character and culture. From Arran in the south, then westwards over to Islay, famous for its whisky and where island life has little changed in generations. Finishing with perhaps the most well-known of the Scottish islands – the romantic Isle of Skye, with its incredible coastline and unspoilt scenery.
Your Itinerary
Thursday 26th: Our holiday begins this morning as we leave home and travel towards Scotland and our overnight hotel in Ayrshire. Friday 27th: We board the morning ferry to Arran. We have time to explore the island’s capital Brodick, before we embark on a tour of the island, visiting Lamlash, Whiting Bay and Blackwaterfoot. After some free time at Sense of Arran and Arran Cheese, we board the late afternoon ferry from Lochranza to the Mull of Kintyre, driving along Loch Fyne we arrive at the Grey Gull Hotel where will stay for two nights. Saturday 28th: This morning we enjoy the three-hour sailing to the Queen of the Hebrides – Islay. We visit Bowmore, the island’s capital, with its round church. We than take a tour and tasting at a nearby whisky distillery. There’s time to relax at the ‘Big Strand’ on Laggan Bay with 6 miles of unspoilt sandy beach, before we catch the ferry from Port Askaig back to the mainland. (Breakfast or dinner will be served on the ferry, depending on the schedule). Sunday 29th: We leave our hotel this morning and take a loch side drive to Inveraray and then Loch Awe with time free in Oban, before passing through Fort William. The road to the Isles is recognised as one of the best drives in the UK, after making a stop in Glenfinnan, we continue to Morar and our hotel for the next two nights. Monday 30th: We take the morning ferry to Skye with its wealth of history from Jacobite battles to feuding clans with evidence of the Highland clearances still very much in evidence. The island is abundant in wildlife and the scenery ever changing from the patchwork of velvet moors to jagged mountains and towering sea cliffs. Today’s tour makes the most of the island visiting Portree the islands capital and Dunvegan Castle, home of the Macleod Clan for over 800 years. Later we take the return ferry back to the mainland. Tuesday 01st: Time to make our way home. Leaving our hotel after breakfast, today will be a long journey, comfort stops, and a lunchtime break will be made.

Morar Hotel, Morar Established in 1902 The Morar Hotel is a family run hotel in the highlands. The hotel boasts scenic views of the Silver Sands of Morar and the Inner Hebridean islands of Rum & Eigg. The hotel does not have a lift.
