Tuesday 03rd: We leave home this morning and travel to Hull for the overnight crossing to Rotterdam. Inside cabins are provided, meals can be purchased onboard.
Wednesday 04th: This morning we continue our journey to our overnight stay at the Mercure Stuttgart Sindelfingen an der Messe.
Thursday 05th: After breakfast we continue through Germany into Bavaria and on to Austria before crossing the border into Northern Italy to the village of Fai della Paganella. A warm welcome awaits from our hosts with a glass of Prosecco and time to admire the stunning mountain views before dinner.
Friday 06th: Today, Fausto will play host and take us for a gentle walk around the friendly village. We enjoy a picnic with great company, food and wine, easing us gently into the relaxed ‘Paganella way of life’.
Saturday 07th: Today we arrive in one of Italy’s best kept secrets – stunning Merano! The town centre abounds with shops, restaurants and cafés oozing with delicious strudel. For a birds’ eye view of the city take the chairlift up to the panoramic viewpoint. Try out some mouth- watering ‘speck’ in a local stube or tempt yourself with ‘sachertorte’ in one of the pastry shops! This afternoon, we head to the historic winery of Kettmeir nestled amongst the vineyards of Alto Adige, where we enjoy a short tour and tasting of three wines.
Sunday 08th: Today we drive north towards Moena, based in the heart of the Dolomites, then ascend towards the vibrant town of Canazei. From here it’s just a short drive to get to the ‘Sella Pass’, an incredible viewing platform, from where we can enjoy lunch and appreciate the amazing 360-degree views across the Dolomites’. We continue down into the alluring Val Gardena, a historic valley known for its wood making traditions and unique and ancient language, Ladin, which is only spoken here. Enjoy a break in the picturesque village of Ortisei and relax over a delicious plate of strudel, or perhaps shop for one of the other local specialities – handmade cuckoo clocks!
Monday 09th: Our route this morning takes us past the lesser known but incredibly scenic Lake Molveno. From here we enjoy the relaxing route taking us to Lake Garda. Riva offers a lakeside historic centre and is the most northerly point in Europe where olive trees grow! We have free time to explore Riva and perhaps enjoy a delicious lunch or drink in the main square.
Tuesday 10th: We bid a fond farewell to our hosts after breakfast, sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Austria into Germany. Victor’s Residenz-Hotel, Saarlouis, is our overnight stop tonight.
Wednesday 11th: After breakfast we continue our journey north to Calais for our afternoon sailing to Dover from where we continue our homeward journey arriving mid-evening.

Hotel Paganella, Fai della Paganella, Dolomites
This friendly family-run hotel is ideally located for touring the area. Fausto and his family always ensure a warm welcome. Bedrooms are well appointed with a TV and hairdryer. There’s a cosy bar, traditional restaurant serving excellent homemade fayre, comfortable lounge and seating areas. Leisure facilities include a sauna, Jacuzzi and steam room.
