Monday 02nd: Leaving home this morning, sit back and relax as we travel north, crossing the border into Scotland and arriving at our hotel later in the day.
Tuesday 03rd: Today we enjoy a one-way scenic train journey on the spectacular Kyle Line from Inverness to the Kyle of Lochlash. The Scotrail train travels through the stunning scenery of the Highland mountains, forests, bright lochs and onto beautiful Skye. We have time to do a spot of sightseeing on the island before boarding the coach and returning, passing the famous Eilean Donan Castle and incredible views of Loch Cluanie.
Wednesday 04th: This morning we embark on a relaxing cruise on the legendary Loch Ness. Brimming with history and monster tales, the real stars of the loch are its castles, monuments and scenery. Later we head up the west side of the Loch to visit the ruins of Urquhart Castle which occupies a pretty spot overlooking the loch.
Thursday 05th: First today, we enjoy a return journey on the Strathspey Railway from Aviemore to Broomhill, taking in glorious views along the journey. Upon return to Aviemore we have a little time to explore the town before heading south to step back in time at the open-air Highland Folk Museum where we discover the hardships of life in the Highlands from the 1700’s to 1950’s.
Friday 06th: After a hearty Scottish breakfast it’s sadly time to leave. We travel south, crossing the border into England and make our way home, arriving later in the day.

In the picturesque village of Newtonmore, the Highlander Hotel has a delightful restaurant, bar and lounge and offers a warm welcome. Bedrooms are en-suite with TV and hospitality tray. The hotel does not have a lift, ground floor rooms may be available on request.
