Thursday 28th: We leave home this morning, travelling to the Northeast, arriving at Lumley Castle Hotel later this afternoon.
Friday 29th: This morning, we travel to the ancient and historic city of Durham. The city is dominated by the magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site of the majestic cathedral and adjacent Norman castle that sit high above the River Wear. We return later to the hotel to get ready for tonight’s superb Elizabethan Banquet. Bagpipes on arrival with a glass of mead or wine before a five-course Banquet. Lords & Ladies of the court will provide entertainment throughout the evening.
Saturday 30th: Today we travel to the capital of the Northeast, Newcastle. We have free time to explore the city. There is plenty to occupy our time, retail therapy, the Discovery Museum, Newcastle castle & cathedral, and the vibrant Quayside.
Sunday 01st: Leaving after breakfast, we head to historic York, where we have time to explore the city and have lunch before continuing our journey home.
