Sunday 19th: The holiday to Yorkshire begins this morning as we leave home and make our way to Harrogate and the Cairn Hotel.
Monday 20th: We make our way to Leyburn and visit Ceramic Inspirations, where a huge variety of items in all shapes and guises are produced. Next door is the Chocolate Shop for a sweet treat. Afterwards, we journey to Hawes where we visit the ‘Cheese Experience’ at the Wensleydale Creamery, home of Yorkshire’s famous cheese. After our visit, we enjoy time to explore Hawes.
Tuesday 21st: Enjoy free time in Harrogate this morning, with elegant buildings, antique shops, broad tree-lined boulevards and abundant green areas. Later, we drive to Ripon, with its magnificent cathedral. Here we have time at leisure, before we continue to delightful Masham where we feature a tour and tasting at the award-winning Black Sheep Brewery.
Wednesday 22nd: This morning we journey to Helmsley where we visit the historic walled gardens, dating back to 1758 and host to a variety of plant species with the stunning Helmsley Castle providing a backdrop. After exploring the gardens, perhaps visit Ryeburn of Helmsley, purveyors of award-winning ice creams. Leaving Helmsley, we make for Thirsk and visit The World of James Herriot. This fascinating tour includes many of the props and sets featured in the TV series based on the life and times of local vet, Alf Wright.
Thursday 23rd: After breakfast, we leave and begin our homeward journey. After taking a break for lunch, we continue, arriving home later this afternoon.

Cairn Hotel, Harrogate
The Cairn Hotel is a charming Victorian-era hotel that has maintained many of its original features. Located just a short walk from the town centre the hotel is ideal for our stay.
