D-Day Landings, Bayeux & Normandy Towns

Your Itinerary

Friday 24th: We depart home this morning and make our way to Portsmouth for the afternoon sailing to Caen. Enjoy dinner on board the ship (not included), before disembarking this evening. We make the short journey to the hotel for a late check-in.
Saturday 25th: Accompanied by an experienced guide, we visit Pegasus Bridge, Café Gondre and the Pegasus Memorial Museum. We then head to Merville Gun Battery and proceed to Ranville Commonwealth Cemetery and Breville Ridge. A stop will be made in Ouistreham for lunch (not included) and in the afternoon, we drive along the landing beaches. A final stop in Arromanches to visit the invasion museum will be made before returning to the hotel.
Sunday 26th: We are again accompanied by an experienced guide today as we make a visit to the Sainte Mere Eglise, before visiting Azeville Battery and Airborne Museum. See Utah Beach then we head to Pointe Du Hoc. Our next visit is the American Cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach. Later we continue along the beach to the Longues-sur-Mer Gun Battery. Our return journey takes us via Bayeux where we visit the famous tapestry.
Monday 27th: This morning, we make our way to Honfleur, situated on the Seine estuary. With its pretty port, the Vieux-Bisson, (old harbour) lined with 16th-18th century townhouses. After ample time exploring the cobbled streets and squares our return journey takes us via Trouville-sur-Mer, France’s first ever coastal resort, the wooden boardwalk dates back to 1867.
Tuesday 28th: We have an early morning start today. We take the morning crossing to Portsmouth, arriving early afternoon. We arrive home later in the day.
