Thursday 7th: We leave home this morning and take a leisurely drive to
Peterborough and our hotel, arriving in time to settle in before this evening’s
meal.
Friday 8th: Our destination today is a visit to Sandringham House and
Grounds, the Norfolk retreat of the Royal Family. The house itself is a grand
Edwardian-style mansion, known for its red-brick façade and ornate interiors,
it is also well-known for its beautiful gardens and a museum. Our return
journey takes us via the vibrant and historic town of Kings Lyn.
Saturday 9th: This morning, we are off to the famous University City of
Cambridge where we have a full day to explore. The city has many fascinating
attractions, not least of which are the many colleges. We start by meeting our
guide for a tour of Cambridge ending with a visit to the American Cemetery.
Afterwards we have chance to explore the city at leisure.
Sunday 10th: First stop today is historic Stamford for a short break with
chance to browse the town centre. Later we move on to Melton Mowbray,
home of the famous pork pies and Stilton and Red Leicester cheese. We then
make our way to Oakham, County town of Rutland, UKs smallest county,
with a fascinating rich history.
Monday 11th: We end our break as we began, with a leisurely drive, after
making a stop for lunch, we continue, arriving home later this afternoon.

The Delta by Marriott, Peterborough
The Delta by Marriott Peterborough is located in the tranquil countryside
on the outskirts of Peterborough. Hotel facilities include indoor swimming
pool and gym. All bedrooms are en suite, and have TV, and tea/coffee
making facilities. The hotel does not have a lift as all bedrooms are
ground and first floor only.
