Monday 18th: We leave home this morning travelling to the south coast
and our ferry crossing to the Isle of Wight.
Tuesday 19th: This morning, we visit Cowes, best known as the world’s
premier yachting centre. From here we travel the short distance to Osborne
House, Queen Victoria’s palace by the sea. Osborne was built as a family home
and as you walk through the Queen’s bedroom, the nursery rooms and even
royal bathrooms, you get an intimate glimpse into royal family life. There are
acres of grounds and gardens to relax in and a delightful café.
Wednesday 20th: This morning, we head to Godshill, one of the most
photographed and prettiest villages on the Island. There are plenty of cafes,
pubs, tearooms and shops dotted around the village. During our stop we
visit the quintessential Model Village. Later we return to Shanklin for a free
afternoon to explore the resort.
Thursday 21st: We begin this morning with a visit to Quarr Abbey, home to
a small group of Benedictine monks. Spend time to discover the peace, beauty
and tranquillity of Quarr. From here we head to charming Ryde with its quirky
shops, iconic pier and classic seaside attractions. We return to the hotel via
the pretty village of Bembridge.
Friday 22nd: Leaving after breakfast we make our way to the ferry for the
return crossing and continue on the homeward journey, arriving later in the day.
