Monday 10th: Our festive break to Weston-super-Mare begins this morning
as we leave home and make our way to the hotel, arriving in time to settle
in before this evening’s meal.
Tuesday 11th: Our first port of call today is lovely Dunster. Set between the
foothills of Exmoor National Park and the Somerset coast, Dunster is probably
the largest and most intact medieval village in England. Later we move on to
Taunton. The county town has plenty to offer from individual boutiques to
historic architecture, modern dining to unspoilt views across the Blackdown
and the Quantock Hills.
Wednesday 12th: This morning is free to enjoy the surroundings and town
of Weston-super-Mare. We enjoy a traditional Christmas lunch at the hotel
before we drive to Shepton Mallet to enjoy their amazing carnival. Somerset
Carnivals are highly regarded as the largest spectacular illuminated
processions in the world! Evening meal is replaced by Christmas lunch today.
Thursday 13th: We spend today in Somerset’s largest city, Bath. With so
many attractions to visit and a compact visitor friendly centre, it’s easy to
while away the day,
Friday 14th: After breakfast and bidding farewell to our hosts, we take a
drive to Gloucester where we will have a break for lunch. We later continue,
to arrive home later in the day.
