Tuesday 23rd: Leaving home and let the festivities begin.
Christmas Eve: Experience a delightful excursion through the picturesque
landscapes of ‘Little Switzerland’ as we journey to the historic market town
of Helmsley. Here, there’s time to explore and enjoy a leisurely lunch before
we continue to Thirsk, the beloved home of James Herriot. This evening at the
hotel, a delicious dinner awaits, followed by an evening of entertainment
from the talented in-house team. For those wishing to attend Midnight
Mass, details of local church services will be available at reception.
Merry Christmas! Start your day with a leisurely morning – perhaps a
stroll around the grounds to build up an appetite for a delicious traditional
Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. This afternoon, unwind with the
King’s Speech and a slice of homemade Christmas cake. Later, enjoy a relaxed
evening buffet before putting your knowledge to the test with a fun quiz,
followed by music from the resident DJ.
Boxing Day: Today, we venture to the historic city of Durham, home to the
stunning UNESCO World Heritage-listed cathedral and castle perched high
above the River Wear. Take time to explore, soak in the history, before we
return to the hotel. This evening, we come together for a final delightful
dinner and entertainment to round off the festivities.
Saturday 27th: We will make our way home on Saturday filled with fond
memories of a delightful Durham Christmas.
