Chorley Market & Southport
Chorley's popular markets date back to 1498 with the most popular market day being a Tuesday. If you're visiting Chorley today you will find two main markets; the covered market operating four days per week, and the Tuesday market with stalls lining the streets of the town centre (traditionally held on the Flat Iron, also known as the Cattle Market, until it moved to the streets a few years ago). Together the markets offer over 100 stalls selling everything from fresh produce to clothes and accessories to gifts, food-to-go and more.
We make our way to the coastal town of Southport for a break in the afternoon, before returning home.
