From Sculptures to Skylines - A Scottish Discovery

From Sculptures to Skylines - A Scottish Discovery
This engaging tour combines two of Scotland’s most innovative,
world-class attractions with visits to two of its most vibrant
and historic cities.

Holiday Highlights

Our journey begins in Falkirk, home to the awe-inspiring Kelpies, two
towering horse-head sculptures that celebrate the region’s rich equine and
industrial heritage. Rising 30 metres above the Forth & Clyde Canal, these
monumental artworks create a striking gateway to the waterway. During our
guided visit, we venture inside the Kelpies, gaining a fascinating insight
into their creation, symbolism, and the incredible engineering behind them.
Next, we experience the Falkirk Wheel, a marvel of modern engineering and
the only rotating boat lift of its kind in the world. We board a boat at the
basin and sail into the lower gondola. Then, in a smooth, graceful sweep, the
wheel lifts us 35 metres to join the Union Canal, an unforgettable journey
through innovation and design. On Saturday, we spend the day in
Stirling, often referred to as Scotland’s heritage capital. Nestled between
craggy hills, mountains, and the winding River Forth, Stirling is
famously described as "the brooch that clasps the Highlands and Lowlands together."
The city’s rich past and scenic backdrop make it a true gem to explore.
On Sunday, we travel to Edinburgh, Scotland’s iconic capital. This vibrant
city effortlessly blends centuries of history with modern energy; all set
against a stunning architectural landscape. Whether you’re exploring its
medieval Old Town, elegant Georgian New Town, or enjoying its many
shops, restaurants, and attractions, Edinburgh offers an unforgettable
experience at every turn.
