We begin in Rutland, England’s smallest county but packed with character.
In Oakham, you’ll find cobbled streets, historic buildings, and a sense of timeless charm.
Later, we’ll take to the water for a leisurely afternoon cruise on the serene Rutland Water,
one of Europe’s largest man-made lakes and a haven for wildlife.
Our next adventure takes us to Newark-on-Trent on market day, when the historic square
bursts into life with stalls, colours, and local produce. From there, it’s on to Lincoln, where
medieval streets wind their way up to the magnificent cathedral, one of the finest in Europe,
and the atmospheric Castle Quarter. Finally, we’ll visit Melton Mowbray, famous for its pork pies
and Stilton cheese, before ending our tour at the grand Belvoir Castle, a stately home
with sweeping views and centuries of fascinating history. For over 900 years, Belvoir Castle
has stood proudly on its hilltop, witnessing the ebb and flow of English history. Here we will enjoy
a guided tour of the castle, followed by time to explore the beautifully landscaped gardens. 
This tour is a celebration of England’s hidden gems, where every stop has a story and every view
invites you to linger just a little longer.

Day 1: We leave home and take a leisurely drive to the Barn Hotel & Spa.
Day 2: A visit to historic Oakham and a scenic cruise on Rutland Water.
Day 3: Newark-on-Trent market day and medieval/modern Lincoln.
Day 4: Home of the Pork Pie, Melton Mowbray and magnificent Belvoir Castle.
Day 5: We make our way home, stopping for lunch, arriving later in the day.
