Our journey begins with a leisurely drive via Harrogate, allowing time to explore this elegant spa town
before continuing to our hotel in York. During our stay, there is ample time to explore at your own pace.
Perhaps wander the medieval Shambles, lined with crooked timber-framed shops, or stand in awe
beneath the vaulted ceiling of York Minster. History comes alive at the Jorvik Viking Centre, while
the National Railway Museum offers a captivating journey through the golden age of steam.
With lively markets, boutique shopping, and plenty of tea rooms to tempt you, there’s no shortage
of ways to while away the hours.
For those wishing to venture further, an optional full-day circular excursion reveals the coastal charm of
Filey and the atmospheric harbour town of Whitby, famed for its abbey ruins and literary connections.
Our return journey takes us through the glorious scenery of the Peak District, with time to pause in one
of its pretty market towns before we head home.
