Monday 19th: "Christmas Eve" We travel south to Dover onto Calais through Belgium
onto Holland for an evening arrival in Valkenburg. Once having unpacked, you are invited
to attend a Christmas Eve dinner. Afterwards, Santa will make a special appearance to
deliver a festive present to all guests whilst tea, coffee and Christmas cake is also on offer.
Tuesday 20th: "Christmas Day" Free day to explore Valkenburg. The hotel invites you to
enjoy a festive Christmas lunch including turkey. In the evening hotel will provide a light
supper.
Wednesday 21st: "New Year’s Eve" Today we take a trip out to the beautiful town of
Monschau. Monschau is the cultural centre of the Eifel mountain region and one of the
most popular locations in the area. Its romantic half-timbered houses sit within ancient
walls in an idyllic medieval townscape. This charming picture-postcard town is simply
breathtaking. We head back to Valkenburg for a New Year’s Eve gala dinner, champagne
and local pastry.
Thursday 22nd: "New Year’s Day" This morning we make our way to nearby
Maastricht, ‘capital’ of Limburg and one of the oldest cities in Holland, with large open
squares and cobbled streets. This afternoon we visit the white village of Thorn, once
a miniature principality, nowadays it attracts visitors with the allure of its cobbled streets,
beautiful church and characteristic white houses.
Friday 23rd: After breakfast we return through Belgium and France and make our way
home. (There will be a Hypermarket stop if ferry times permit)
