Friday 18th: We travel to Yorkshire arriving during the afternoon at the Cedar Court
Hotel for our 3 night stay. This evening enjoy a pre-dinner drink followed
by a relaxing evening of light entertainment.
Saturday 19th: This morning we visit Harewood House, one of the Treasure Houses of
England set in the heart of Yorkshire. The house has an impressive art
collection, furniture by Thomas Chippendale and much more with 100
acres of award-winning gardens and the renowned lakeside Bird
Garden. Marvel at the State rooms and then below stairs – the engine
rooms of the house. Later we return to the hotel to get ready for our
entertainment evening. This begins with a pre-dinner drink, followed by
a Gala Dinner and tonight’s extravaganza – the highlight of the
weekend, an evening with the legendary Joe Loss Orchestra, now
led by Todd Miller. Since 1930 the band has never disbanded or
reformed, making them the longest running entertainment company of
any kind. The Big Band and singers will perform hits that range from the
50’s to the 80’s.
Sunday 20th: Today takes us to the City of York. A city that offers the visitor much to
see; the magnificent York Minster, The Jorvik Centre and the National
Railway Museum to name a few. Perhaps explore the narrow streets
and alleyways, including the famous Shambles, plenty to occupy your
day. Enjoy a final pre-dinner drink this evening followed by an evening
of live entertainment.
Monday 21st: We leave this morning after breakfast and return home via Oswaldtwistle
Mills the former weaving mill with over 100 retailers all under one roof.
