Sunday 3rd: We head to the South Coast for our crossing to Calais. We continue through Belgium into Germany and onto the Carat Hotel in Monschau.
Monday 4th: Full day tour to Koln where the cathedral spires tower over Germany's oldest city and its innumerable cultural and historical treasures, world-famous museums and active art scene. Stroll through the narrow, cobble-stoned alleys will take you back to times long ago.
Tuesday 5th: Free day in Monschau.
Wednesday 6th: Full day tour to Aachen which in the Middle Ages was the seat of emperors and kings, and the scene of many coronations. Its hot springs made this city, at the foot of the Eifel hills, the favourite residence of Charlemagne, who built a palace here.The pedestrian precincts in the picturesque old town are a lovely place for a stroll and a spot of window-shopping . There are lots of little shops clustered around the cathedral and town hall which sell interesting and unusual goods. We return via the Effiel Mountains.
Thursday 7th: Sadly its time to leave Monschau and head to Calais and our crossing to Kent. We continue our journey homeward.
